We had a nice turn out of Hellcats this past Friday at Virginia Motorsports Park, all looking to set some numbers with the new mods they had been doing, but to the dismay of everyone the track was only going to let us run 1/8 mile as the rain for in the last month started to show thru to the surface of the back half, so for safety they made that change.
Ed from Louisiana did make a full pass late in the evening netting a 9.588 , Brent from DTP finally got his Charger a 9.94the day before, Linda was running 3 class's and it showed as the car was hot lapping the entire day, she did manage a second place in the PRO class which is the most competitive class at the MSHS events, loaded with true 9.50 cars, my day ended early, looks like the Ujoint failed on the drive shaft in the back, no real damage to the car just a new shaft and joint, car was running good with 1.38 60's.
Thanks to all that made it down, not the type of racing we expected but we did have a good time.
    TC

Had a great time even though your daughter (Kate) took me out in the 2nd round of eliminations. Kind of dej'a vu because last year at the same race your wife (Linda) took me out in the 2nd round of eliminations. Both are excellent drivers and tough to beat...Congrats to both for placing in their classes..

About the 1/8th mile runs....I have never run 1/8th mile races before and thought it was a bummer when they announced we would...but actually kind of liked it...

Aren't you running the DSS DS? If so let us know how they treat you on the warranty claim and how that all goes down.

It was a crazy day down there, Eric and I had fun and our cars ran OK, both running over 113 in the 1/8 and Eric ran a 6.21 and I ran a 6.19. Eric did a 1.40 sixty and I got a 1.43. Top Cat encouraged us to run, I was waiting for 1/4 to be opened up. It is a good thing we ran, both Cats rejected the juice like a hair ball.

As always, I end up next to a jeep in the 9.5 class, and lost by 0.1 second, he got the jump and I could not wheel him in, Lord please give me the juice,

My best with 20 inch wheels was 1.60, I think Eric ran a 1.56 or so with them. Went to 18 inch wheels and and 3.09 and went 1.46 first time at the track. Just do a nasty burn out (over 10 seconds), get the revs (near 2,000 or so) up on the line and nail it when the tree drops. I cut a hole in the fire wall where the gas pedal is so the pedal can travel more distance.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I am chasing Top Cat trying to get the sixty below 1.40.

You got MT and I'm sure you 60ft is already down. I'd be shocked if you don't run 1.7 or low 60' in your next outing.
