Yesterday I decided to install my new Passport Max2 radar detector. I used the blend mount, which is well-made. For power we used t-taps on the black and pink wires on the mirror connector. Black was ground. All of the other wires we found up there did some funky 2V to 6V stuff during power cycles, which could harm a radar detector.

To gain access, we removed the large black plastic piece that sits behind the mirror, against the windshield. To remove it just pull and rock it left and right.
    Hope this helps someone else.

Has three bent spring tabs that clasp the head of a pentagonal bolt. There is also a locating nub that fits in a notch. The only screw going in is on the inside..

    - place the rearview mirror over the mirror button (part glued to the windshield).
    - Grasp the mirror by the base and rotate it approximately 90 degrees counter-clockwise until the mirror locks into place.
NOTE: The mirror must be fully seated onto the button before rotating.

best to get the windshield good and hot before attempting this. also, a helper pushing back from the outside might help because simple hand pressure from the inside can crack a cold windshield.

It has spring clips, and 5 sides. I did it by myself, You have to start with the mirror turned 9 o'clock position (or 3 o'clock) then press hard!!! while pressing, turn it to the 12 o'clock position, its difficult, I had to take all the plastic covers off to get it on... but I finally got it! I actually had to do this twice! hope this helps

I'm at the dealership now fr oil change and CEL. They're looking at mirror also. And there's a new silver Hellcat Charger here, unwashed. Built for Richard Wagner.

Oil change-check. Reattached rear-view mirror-check. Checked P062A code for check engine light. Said they found nothing, bring it in when the light is on. I explained that getting an appointment after the light is on -well, the light goes off before they can fit you in. Rep says "call me next time, we'll get it setup". Light came on while driving home. They want me to come by in 2 days. SMH.
