i know that the 2015 challengers were designed by some of the things on the 71' challenger but im curious if there are any differences between 70', 71' and 72' A beautiful 70 and a 72 came for sale and i want to get either one to match my hellcat and i can never find a 71. Would the 1972 be any different than the 70?

1970 is more desirable if you are collecting. If not then get your preference.

Friend of mine has a 71 convertible in excellent shape. He wants to sell it to help pay for the Hell Cat he has on order. PM me if interested and I will put you in touch with him.

He is probably not in canada though, and i was planning on getting the 71 and painting it sublime green just like my hellcat wnd have them looking the same. If the 70 is the right price i may do that instead

You should look hard for one that came Sublime from the factory. You can take a big financial hit by changing color on a nice collectable car. Paint code on the fender tag will be FJ5.

70 was high water mark for the Challenger. Dodge was late to the ,pony car party with the 70 intro and had one great year, HP went down in 71 (except Hemi) with Fed regulations. By 72 no more big blocks and goofy crash standard bumpers and bulging side marker lights. Last year was 74.

LOL! Lets just agree 74 was the "final" year for the Challenger. I remember when the 1980 Challenger came out, I was in High School. Ugh, what an ugly car!

Sales had dropped off so dramatically that the Challenger and Barracuda were axed halfway through the '74 model year.

Having owned a '72 318 myself, I was disappointed in how much the HP dropped as compared to the 71's and older...the '71 was rated at 230 HP, and my '72 was a measly 150 HP!!!
