Hello as the title says I am selling my GT 500 to buy a Hellcat. I am excited about the new car and especially impressed with the interior. I think power wise they will be about the same as the GT 500 is modified. I am excited to see how the eight speed automatic drives, as I have been in a standard for a while now.

    Interesting move.
I have a convertible GT500 and a 392 thats getting traded for the Hellcat. Both very different cars. The GT500 drives much "smaller" than the Challenger. Don't really know how to explain it. Guess that is why I am not a writer or driver for the magazines.

I would not give up my GT500 for anything. It is my favorite car. But its a convertible.
I believe the Hellcat will be much faster if it hooks up than the Shelby. Shelby lacks the low end pull. Once it gets going look out. Just look at the dyno runs and see where the horse power bands are.
The Challenger has a better ride, more room and seems to handle and brake just fine ( I'm not on the road track).
Hope your purchase goes well and make sure to get some big bucks for that GT500.

The gt500 is a really hard car to beat,, dodge is just entering the game,, so give us a few years, then see what the hellcat do

I think once we can get a custom tune for our Hellcats it will really unlock the power.

I can't believe what the tune did to my GT500. My guess is the Hellcat is detuned for EPA, and insurance...... reasons.

we will have it. I bet by the time they figure out how to paint a satin black hood, some body will have a tune. I just do not want to be the first.

As mentioned earlier, two very different rides, my KR has me more attentive when driving it, the one thing great about Shelby's is that you can find a very nice used car down the road for a descent price if you ever wanted to pick up another, the cat only time will tell how it fairs in the used market place....

I guess I am ready to move on from the Shelby. I am not old 50 now, but I think it's time to move to something different. I always wanted a Shelby and I have had 3 in the past eight years. I modified them and customized them to my taste and lost money on everyone to include the one I have now. My concern on the 5.8 motor is repairability and the amount of cars produced. I like being just a little different and the challenger looks more like a Grand Touring car, and a little more sophisticated.

Your going to love the hellcat, space, ride, power.
The KR is my favorite new Shelby hands down, but I like driving the Challenger more..the old Mr Norms would have been a great place to have performance work done if still in existence....

I am retired military and a combat veteran suffering from PTSD, sometimes I think I do this just to keep that adrenaline up. My mind knows it's not logical to build these cars and sell them at a loss. But something in me just can't help but make a change.
