That's probably the best stock exhaust I've heard in a long time. Damn it sounds good!

Has anyone seen how the exhaust valves are mounted? Are they inside the mufflers or like the corvette/camaro npp systems where its just a butterfly valve mounted somewhere in line?

Straight through, no Y or H pipe. I have the info somewhere around here, can't find it at the moment, but from what I remember they used the throttle bodies from another engine for the cutouts.

Yes would be very interested to see how they are doing it. It sounds then, like the qtp low profile where it just shoots out the side of the pipe? It has to have two avenues to exit by if their using a butterfly style.

I found the explanation for it on the Jay Leno Garage youtube video. It is a butterfly just stuck in the exhaust pipe and based on exhaust flow it opens or closes... It seems to me that it wouldn't be very efficient at lower rpms, with the valve closed up.

The exhaust info below is in the Challenger article

2015 Dodge Challenger SRT: the muscle cars return with Hellcat engines

2015 Dodge Charger Hellcat: 204 mph, 707 hp

    Exhaust
The exhaust note was custom-engineered using an electronically controlled exhaust valve; the first time a 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat was fired up on the assembly line in Ontario, workers came running to investigate. The 2.75-inch, straight-through, twin-exhaust system includes durable, double-walled exhaust manifolds and ceramic catalysts capable of withstanding temperatures up to 1,922° Fahrenheit (1,050° Celsius).

It'll be hard press for the aftermarket exhaust world to make it sound any better. So wicked sounding for being stock!

It is a nice sound straight from the factory! Usually an aftermarket exhaust is my first modification, but I might be able to run the stock system for a minute :)
