Hey All! New to this forum, but not to Mopars, Challengers or the Challenger community.

English native now living in Charleston SC. Started off with a 2008 SRT4 Caliber, modded the life out of that car and would walk away from anything and every.

Next was a 2011 RT Challenger with Mopar Exterior Package. Kept the car for 3 years until September 2014 when I ordered my 2015 Phantom Black SRT 392.

The SRT arrived in November and I loved it. I had a few minor factory paint issues that Chrysler gave to go-ahead to fix. The dealership struggled with the work and ended up leaving me very unhappy with the condition of the car.

I'm in a VERY lucky position where Chrysler has agreed to replace my car. I had a hotlisted order for a Hellcat Challenger entered on 2/13/2015. I can continue to drive the 392 until the Hellcat delivers. MSRP is paid to me for the 392 and I pay MSRP for the Hellcat, I just have to pay the difference. Cannot wait, very happy with how Chrysler has handled the situation, obviously.......

Hellcat ordered - Challenger, M6, Phantom Black Pearl, Sepia Laguna Leather.

Looking forward to joining in with the community! Here is the 392, BEFORE the paint issues!

Sounds like they are stepping up and making it right. The Hellcat will be a great choice. What type of paint problems did the 392 have?

There was a fiber in the center of the hood under the clear cost. Then some bubbles/clear coat issues on the front drivers fender and passenger door.

So they offered you a buy back, and not a repaint, how does that happen

Do you have a VIN at this point. You should be at the front of the line. Great choice on the colors!

No VIN yet, just the VON, order was only placed this past Friday.

They did repaint, and this is where the dealership had trouble....

Welcome to the forum! My Hellcat is my 3rd Challenger, I love these cars! I am quite familiar with Charleston, my Mother is a native, my father spent most of his Naval career there, my husband and I were stationed at the Weapons Station in Goose Creek years ago (we were there when Hurricane Hugo hit ... NOT a fun time), and I still have family sprinkled about the Charleston area.

I am sorry to read about your trials and tribulations with that dealership ... was it Rick Hendrick Dodge?I used to have a Jeep Grand Cherokee, and had many problems with Rick Hendrick. Ended up getting the service on the Jeep done on Rivers Ave ... I forget the name of the dealership. I hope that you do not have too long of a wait!

    April

Hi April! thanks for the Welcome and you're exactly right on the dealerships! they're actually both Rick Hendrick dealers. I have purchased from both of them in the past.

Charleston is a great change from London, I love it here.
