I plan on keeping my Challenger Hellcat for a long, long time. I have the choice of buying a 2015 A8 with an ADM (call it between $5K and $10K...closer to $5K, though). Or, wait until 2016 and buy the identical car/options for MSRP. Assume there is 100% chance that I will get the 2016 at that price.

My question is this...is there "value" in getting the first year edition? Like I said, I plan on keeping it for a long time. It won't be my DD. I don't mind waiting for the 2016 model, but just curious on your thoughts on paying the ADM today for a 2015 that will be delivered next week.

Thank you for your input! :)

Color not an issue: new colors next yr may be more worth waiting for. Warranty rumored to be less for 16.

A few service fixes should be set for 16. Then its bavk to patience: get a car in a week or 2 but pay more vs waiting further for a maybe build sometime in next 6 months.

I would wait and get the exact car you want and save the ADM money

If you plan on keeping it then you should definitely get exactly what you want. Might be a longer wait since this whole mess will probably continue for some time, but you'll have what you're looking for IMO.

    get the 16

odds are you wont drive it enough to make the warranty an issue

    expect a price hike
    expect some new options
    expect some new standard feature
maybe a cool sticker package since its obvious most want a graphic pkg or something to ID it as a HC more

i see no negatives other than lack of patience i waitin until 2016

i have 0 patience....i also dont want any color other than sublime..so for me a 2015 was it

every year they seem add a new standard feature.....what will 2016 hold? line lock maybe?

If its an identical car, buying a 2015 might be a good idea. MSRP will go up for 2016...most likely...and if you are going to keep it for many years, the 1 yr depreciation is negligible. The switch over from 2015 to 2016 is 3 days and one would think that small changes are added as they go...fuel rail, HK flash, tranny flash, ect

No guarantee they produce a 2016. I'd seriously consider the 2015.

    2015 - 5yr/100000mi warranty
    2016 - 5yr/60000mi warranty

The 2016 will essentially have all of the updates that occurred to the 2015 (transmission flash, radio flash, radiator hose line fixes, PCM updates) but will be the same car. For 2016, you'll likely see color changes, a few aerodynamic tweaks in the form of a special add-on package but nothing to really send the car above and beyond what it already is.

Not knowing what MSRP will be for 2016 puts you at a financial gamble.

Bottom line, since you are going to keep it for a long time, make sure you get exactly what you are looking for. If the 2015 matches your criteria and you don't mind paying the $5k ADM, then go ahead and buy now.

Is there a serious risk that they won't produce any more after 2015MY?

Well now thats just silly lol. They have already mentioned colors, and when production for the 16's will start. If i knew they were making them in PCP i would have waited. I love the Sublime to, but the PCP wins hands down

No guarantee 2016 will be any better than '15 for production. Just a thought. I remember when Tim at FCA said you order it, we'll build it about a year ago.....Hmmmm what happened!

Agreed. TK said they'd build them, but he didn't say when. If you get a 2016, 2017, etc, FCA still "built your car".
