Hey folks so I'm debating on getting 295's over 305's for the rear because I don't want the tire to stick out beyond the fender and sling debris on the body. Can you guys post up some pics looking down the fender at the top of the tire so I can see the difference. I wanna make an informed decision with your help! If the 305's don't stick out I will get them. If it's close I'll get the 295's. Thanks!

Pretty sure the 305's don't protrude over the fender. That would be my choice.

I have 295s on mine mainly because I wanted a taller tire in the rear for "old school look"....The Falkens I bought are as wide as most 305s....

These are 305? What make? I'm sure I can get ZL1 to make me a bigger rear rock guard too. Thanks!

Not 305s. The rear tires are 295/40/20 and the fronts are 275/40/20. Brand is Falkens. The Falkens are not that great for traction and I never drive in the rain so I don't know how they do in the rain. I bought them for looks (wanted an old school raked look) and price. I have 305/45/18 drag radials mounted on Weld Racing wheels when I go to the track.

Ok I like how they look and the sidewall is the same with the 295. I might be leaning that way. It's 2 steps up from the 275 which is not bad. I would love to know the contact surface difference from a 295 to a 305 due to the fact we are pushing it on a 9.5" wheel.

I'm going this way. Gets me what I'm after plus helps with the effective gear ratio for my personal goals. More contact being just one.

    Michelin Pilot Super Sports ordered

(All 4 in my case though.)

I have the 295s mounted on 10" wheels on my 2013 SRT. Looks like the 9.5" rims pull about a 1/4" of tread off the ground on both sides of the tire compared to the 10".

    The Falkens 295 have a 12.3" tread width compared to a 305/35 Michelin 11.2....The Falken has a 12.1 section width compared to Michelin's 12.3...The 295/40 is 29.2" tall and the Michelin 28.4.

I wanted a rear tire that is both wider and taller than the front tires...the 295/40/20 Falkens fit that want well.

I will say if traction is paramount to your decision then the Michelins will give better traction. Michelin does make a 295/40 but hard to find because they do limited runs of them. You might also note that Falken has discontinued the 295/40/20. Lot of stock out there at closeout prices buy eventually they will be gone.

I love my 555r's in 305. No more splatter on the body than normal really.
