If I use a heat gun to mold the plastic inner fender well, and have Weldcraft add 1" to the inside of the factory wheels, will 315-35-20 tires fit under the rear? The section width of those tires is 12.6". If someone can confirm these will fit, I will go ahead and get them ordered now so they are ready for my hellbaby when it arrives.

I haven't read of anyone widening their rear wheels. Talked about it but haven't seen it done yet. Won't know for sure about the 315 fit until someone does.

I personally feel nothing good can come from widening factory wheels (unless on a show car), and while I have no proof (and many are successful) , splitting a rim down the middle, and welding a 1 inch strip at two more points really seems to concern me as welds are two more points of failure I don't want on my rims. I alos wonder how true the end result is?

That with the forces a 4400 lb (empty) HC can make on it's tires.

Further, I think 1 inch inboard could potentially cause you problems.

    YMMV.

You don't have 1" to go in that direction, it's very tight even if you try remolding the plastic liner, that may give you 1/4 in.
