Anyone heard of installing a 4 point harness and connecting it to the child seat anchors in the rear seat? I would like something better then the regular lap belt for safety and to hold me in the seat better.

I found these and think its what I'm looking for. Anyone have any experience with Takata Harnesses? Any other suggestions?

I've been thinking about fabricating a removable rear bar to secure harnesses to for track/autocross use. Part of my bar would mount to point D as they're saying these mount to. I need to remove the B pillar interior to see if I can find a decent mounting location there (or where I could create one).

Check out the GoPoint products. One of the few that are DOT approved. Great for track days as you can stow them out of the way when you want to go with the 3 point belts.

Do you have a link to their site? All I find on Google is smart phone apps.

There is a harness bar available that mounts the harness at a safe angle. I'm worried about the 45 degree criteria in the above posts. For race cars I always have heard no more than 20 deg. from horizontal. The lower the belt mounting points goes the more load is put down on your shoulders and vertebrae in an incident. The longer the belt is the more it can stretch instead of holding you in a more controlled position in an accident.

Funny you would mention OBD II devices. I just picked up a cheapy $12 bluetooth one on Amazon for use at the track. Now to find a decent Android App.

Generally speaking, if you're not running a 5 or 6 point harness, you're not really gaining much safety over the stock 3 point. You need to protect yourself from sliding forward in a front-end crash.

I'm using TrackAddict on my iPhone (pretty sure they have an Android version too) and the GoPoint is one of the few that work reliably with mine. I've tried a couple of cheap Bluetooth and WiFi ones but have had no success with a good steady connection. Prob. easier getting one to work for yours. I also purchased Race Render to load my info to on my desktop computer and get really cool results with overlay gauges and track graphics on the GoPro vids.

I use the OBDLINK LX Bluetooth with Track Addict and Race Render. Works great but I wish more channels were available.
