Now that it looks like I'm finally gonna get a Hellcat, I've got to pay more attention to the posts. Do you think I should have the oil changed at 500? The reason I'm asking is, it's close to 1000 miles to the dealership, where I'm getting the car. That means I would have to stop somewhere in route. Once I get home, I'll do it myself. Thanks

1000 will be fine just no beatin on it. Besides it ran 500 miles, you stop somewhere, they screw it up and your stuck. Wait til you get home

2,500 be ok? That's my trip home from dealer.

Oil done @ 500. At 1000 (200 away) drive system (minus tranny unless I change my mind on that.)

op, I'd put a couple hundred miles on it before you take off that far, just in case...

My SRT tech suggested anywhere between 2000-3000 for the first change, then 6000 miles thereafter.

I changed mine at 2,300. I would check it at 500 and make sure it isn't low. If your drive is that far, maybe take a quart with you. Mine was quart and a half low at 700 but hasn't lost a bit since. Everything looked good at oil change and runs excellent.:)

I would say the same. I was fine for first change at 2,300 and just needed to add a quart and a half at 700. Maybe just have a quart with you in case it gets low, but it should be fine for trip home.:)

Thanks for all the info. I'm really getting into this. I used Mobil 1 in my SRT Magnum from the start. It has 172K on it and doesn't even use a half qt. in 5000 miles. I think I'll stay with Mobil 1 - any comments or suggestions? Thanks again.

That what DrBuick is using and likes it a lot. I was asking him the same thing. I may switch over, it is definitely more reasonably priced.
