Got a call from dealer on sat. Saying that they have just gotten a allocation for manual hellcat & asked if I wanted it, I said hell yes, he told me that he would call on Monday (today) to get my options & color......so today he calls me & said he is waiting for the approval from FCA? Then he can add my options? I thought the allocation was the approval? WTF!!!

He might have gotten a "verbal" from the FCA rep saying an allocation will be forthcoming. Could be a couple of days before dealer can actually apply the allocation to your order. I'm sure you will talking to your dealer when order is confirmed and you have a VIN. Sounds promising. Let us know what happens.

Jim, they are closed but since they ran out of A8's they are allowing dealerships to switch an A8 for an M6.

Yah I don't understand it either. I ordered a car on February 28 and the order is still on paper at the dealership. They just got a Cat in 4 weeks ago that was sold and called me Friday and said that they're gettin an allocation this week according to their rep so mine will go thru. It's never been entered into the system so I don't know whether to believe them or not. They're a small dealership and seem like good people but I'm Listening to everyone here say that it's closed for 15 which is killing me cuz I'm a sublime guy.

You can't order any cars now. What the dealer is doing is taking a customers A8 order and switching it to manual and selling it to you, or taking a dealer stock A8 order and doing that.

You can't edit the color or options now, so your dealer is BS'ing you.

The dealer can't do any mods, but their regional FCA rep can....but a brand new VON order being entered in the system sounds funny for sure. If the dealer has an order in BX or C in their system, FCA may make certain changes for them/you to accommodate. They may want to wait until this possible VON/BX goes VIN/D then adjust to your liking, because if they do any changes in BX, it will most likely go back to BG for a week or three. I agree with CUBE that most new allocations will almost certainly involve M6's. Keep us updated Green.

Could be the one car per dealer thing kicking in. Who knows.
