So I have Nitto 555R drag radials and love them. They go great in the rain but apparently my tread is completely gone. Haven't had much rain lately. But yesterday it was a downpour and I was going straight and started to fishtail all over the place, barely recovered Yikes!

    Immediately called for new tires.

Be careful to watch your tread level on these tires!

Street driving you use street tires, Drag radials are for the track, the question you need to ask yourself is your life worth the risk??????????????????

Just drove 7 hours, in the rain, to the Mopar Nats this past weekend on MT drag radials.... not 1 issue.

I thought I read MT's were terrible in the rain. Not so?

The previous style, whatever they were called... not the newest version that was just released..

I was very mindful of the way I was driving. No quick throttle application, curves were done off the throttle, etc. But, yeah 7 hours at 65-75mph. Not 1 slip, slide, fishtail..nothing. its not something I recommend, but I wasnt changing tires for a 40% chance of rain forecast in just the 1 day driving there.

Buddy, glad you saved it. Good work. That is why mine wears the large set of Pirelli's on the street. My drag radials are on the shelf with the OEM wheels waiting for those track days or days of opportunity.

Again, glad you and your Cat are still with us!

Sorry to hear that, Buddy, and glad you recovered it! I's crazy out there with all the construction in GR. Almost got sideswiped twice (right and left sides) within 10 minutes on 28th this afternoon. Pinheads! Will you be doing Metro Cruise on the 21st and 22nd? If so, hope to meet up with you!

Had the very same thing happen to me with the factory tires in a downpour! Pretty damn scary and definitely became a "white knuckle" experience until I got home. Have installed new 555R's since.
