If it meets the specs required in your owner's manual then fine. If it does not, I wouldn't run it during the warranty period. Your choice though.

I've run it for years in my modded diesel pickups. I'm also currently running it in my 2013 Boss. We took the heads off my 2002 Duramax to install ARP studs and after running Amsoil for 75,000 miles.....the mechanic said the cylinder bores looked like a brand new engine......cross hatching still there. He said it obviously was great oil and to keep running it. YMMV.

OE engine oil is the best thing and designed for the car. I know amsoil is a good product however the engineers that designed the power plant and drivetrain do that for reason. It isn't to endorse a product, it is meant for the car.

Just like they didnot pin the crank? If the weight is correct I would use Amsoil.

If you actually knew anything abt these cars, your oil recommendation is incorrect. There is SRT engine engineers working on this concern.

Well since you asked I do have an opinion. I'm a big fan of Amsoil and I've used (and still use it) for years. The signature series stuff is a great oil with a stout add pack. The 0W40 is no exception.

With that said.... *If* you have an engine related warranty claim that has anything to do with oil I would not want to be the middle man with FCA on one side and Amsoil on the other. I think it's a better idea to stick with Pennzoil Platinum 0W40 or even Mobil 1 0W40 during the warranty period.

If you do use it please consider doing oil analysis and posting up the results. I'd love to see it and I'm sure others would as well.

Probably not much difference between the two oils. Says Penzoil in owners manual and Amsoil costs more I think? Easy choice for me.

    Since you asked...

I'll stay with factory recommendations on this one. Penzoil Ultra Platium 0-40w

The only reason the switch from Mobil to Penzoil is because of sponsorship. Mobil's ended and Penzoil offered more for the spot light. They didn't specifically engineer this special oil just for these cars. We've been using 0w40 for how long now in our 5.7's 6.1's 6.4's
