Given the loss of aerodynamic effect from removing the front bumper/fascia, I think any gains from the intake are going to be offset.

Look again guys, the air filter is located in the same location as the old Driver side intercooler, please note the picture also shows a 3.5" BWoody heat exchanger (now located in the center of the front facia that replaced the OEM driver intercooler)

I don't own a HC yet, But isn't it already equipped with a cai? That is a lot of expense to get minimal if any gains.

That looks great and can't wait to see and hear more about it. How far from the ground is the filter? Would it suck up water if driving through some high water?
I'm not planning on driving through high water but Houston/League City weather can be unpredictable and the rain can pour down so fast that it can flood quickly in some areas. I'm just curious. :)

That's a good spot I'm sure, but it's too bad you had to remove the auxiliary LTR cooler to put it there. Like Top Cat says for a race setup, I'm sure it would work well. You'd likely use your ice tank with your 3.5" LTR cooler and could afford to lose the stock LTR. I wouldn't remove mine for my car since I'm doing road course track days and need all the heat rejection I can get.
Have you considered making a hood scoop that feeds into the top of a box that you could make around the factory location? Much like the kind of box surrounding an open element filter on the Z28 and GT350. You're already making a carbon fiber hood so I bet you have the contacts to fab something up.
