Went out to GLD on Thursday this past week. First run was 9.98 at 136.34mph and 2nd run was 9.988 at 136.3, guess I should bracket race, lol. 60fts were right around 1.46 or so. It was pretty warm and very humid, DA was around 2500ft. I know the car will be quicker come fall with some good air. Very happy with the car. Mods are 2.85 upper 10% lower 1000cc injectors, 3.09 gears, driveshaft, 305/45R18 Mickeys on Welds, and a q16 tune from HHP.
A little word of advice from my experience the first time I went out two weeks ago. I had an issue where the car would launch extremely hard and fall on its face about 2 seconds into the run. Very scary, and I thought something went horribly wrong at first. Then I thought some kind of TQ management in the tune. Well thanks to Linda responding to me while they were out at VMP last weekend we realized it was just a matter of not enough fuel in the tank. I had only put in about 2-3 gallons and it was all going to the back of the tank and running out of fuel. Fuel pressure would drop and computer would shut the TB and open bypass to dump boost. Have run other street cars at the track before with this much fuel and never had a problem, but the HC gets out of the hole in a hurry with some real G-Force!!
So this Thursday I made sure there was plenty of Q16 in the tank and she ran flawlessly and made it into the 9s. Thanks to everyone that has given me pointers, StellasHC, and HHP for the tune and Late Model Throttle in Waukesha WI for the install. Going to shoot for 9.7-9.8 this fall with better DA
