I've seen quite a bit of talk to widen stock wheels, get replicas, and even drag wheels, but so far i haven't heard any talk about anyone putting 22" (or 24") wheels on their Hellcat. It's not like we're strangers to seeing these size wheels on the LX platform, so I was just wondering is it because you want to stick with the stock look, is it a performance thing, or some other reason you want to avoid large diameter wheels on your beast?

Hmm I would not do it, it would affect mpg efficiency for sure and a little performance.

I would lower the car an inch or so instead unless you're going for the hot wheels big wheels look

I'd consider anything above 22 to have that hot wheel look. The 22s (35 series) on my Magnum are the exact same height as my stock 18s with the Continentals. But yeah, i know what you mean.

With the state of the roads around my neighbourhood I prefer a little side wall

I wouldn't consider lightweight 3 piece forged wheels bling...I call that a step up in performance.

Heavy chrome plated cast wheels, yes.

Anything above 20 inch and you end up with rubber bands for tires; does nothing really for performance and actually could worsen it due to lack of tire flex and not being able to react-or causing over-reaction- to bumps and suspension changes. IMHO It is strictly for looks-which is not a bad thing but I think 20's are already big enough.

    YM (of course) MV...

I have thought about going to a 22 inch wheel,, but I don't want the small side wall,, plus the hellcat sits lower

As most of you guys already know, there are different profile tires you can choose from, and there are benefits from having lower sidewall tires - such as better road handling into curves, and improved steering control. So if you're going to call low profile 22 inch tires pointless, then tell that to the supercar owners that use low profile 20 inch tires on their sports cars. Same concept, just two inches smaller. Each tire size has various side wall widths for a reason. I for one wouldn't go any lower than a 35 series tire for daily driving. Anything below that and you're definitely in rubber band territory - asking for trouble.

I looked at 1000+ LX cars with 22-24" rims and all the 22" tires have plenty of tire on the look at all the pics posted in Springfest of LX's it all what you want to do. If I was going to just show my HC I would air bag it and put 22's . Drag it only 18" but performance on street track and drag 20's has the most options in tires. I just ordered custom wheels in 20 so I can go lighter & wider in the back. I would love to see a HC in 22's someone will do it ! I say go for it its your car.:D
