forgive me for posting so much in the "off topic" section of the forum as i know these rise to the top of the recent posts and active topics with all the other Hellcat posts.. it is not that i am trying to screw up the forum, i just enjoy discussing other hobbies here as a change of pace to Hellcat talk all the time.

anyone into watches and watch collecting? do people wear wrist watches anymore now that everyone has a smart phone? anyone have an apple watch? if so what do you think of it?

i have a classic mechanical watch that i wear everyday. in a time with so much tech, i like to be old school. no batteries. tons of moving parts that make almost perfect mechanical accuracy. for a long time i wore my good ol casio g shock which i still love. it has been out of planes and into rough and rugged situations and takes a lickin and keeps on tickin.. the g shock is a bad ass watch.

I wear an analog "atomic" watch. I always had a thing about about having an accurate watch - not sure why. I hate digital display watches although I have a cheap one I wear some when working at jobs where it might get destroyed.

me too. i love and appreciate the accuracy. if the watch is not accurate i cannot wear it. i also cannot wear fakes either.. for whatever reason they bother me.. perhaps i am spoiled.. i could never wear cheap sunglasses either..

my whole life i knew of and heard about what great watches Rolex made. honestly i was not impressed. it was not until AFTER i purchased one, and then later researched the crap out of them and the very few different models they have kept over the years, that i really came to appreciate them and what goes into making them.
i like all kinds of watches. but as far as i am concerned the Patek Philippe and Rolex are the two best. the Rolex can take abuse where the Patek Philippe cannot. i like to hear opinions on watches, why people choose the ones they do. may sound odd but it is something i enjoy talking about. Seiko makes a great watch, Breitling, Omega, Fossil, Movado, Tag, etc.. all interesting in their own way.. i skipped a ton of names.. too many to list.

    1905 - 1919

i think the history of Rolex is very interesting. you either love them or hate them.

I wear an Apple Watch and I love it. So handy I don't have to have my phone with me all the time at work. As long as it's close on my desk I can walk away and still do what I need. Answer or deny calls, read and send texts, get alarms or alerts and of course display the Hellcat logo anytime I move my wrist ;). Accuracy is excellent since it's set automatically and I use it for my workouts to track that. It's much more functional for me than a regular wrist watch. I was on the fence about it till I got one now my wife and I love it.

I take it off at night and put it on the charger so battery has never been an issue. Yes you have to have your phone with you to do phone things on it, but it works fine as a watch or workout tracker without phone being near. I never take my phone on workout.
