Anybody out there not using mud flaps on their Hellcat Challenger?
Have you noticed any serious paint chips on the bottom rear quarters? Post some pics if possible.
I don't like the look of the mud flaps and want to know if they're absolutely necessary.

    Thanks,
    Townie.

You will see my car in person in the next couple weeks. I have 13,304kms so far without ;)

I did not want to put them on, but the damage it's brutal without. Even with them on wicks will hit your door.

That's good to hear. Such a relief. Was dreading having to add them.
Where are you near? I'm just south of Sauble Beach on lake Huron.

None , I only hand wash the car so I know every blemish it has.
Couple stone chips on the front end but sides are good

my 2010 PCP challenger RT had little paint chips ALL OVER the bottom of the doors. This was after only a couple of thousand miles. those F1's picked up and slung every rock there was at the body. you could hear them ding the doors as you drove.

I put on the flaps but it was too late. too much damage to undo.

my hellcat got paint protection film and flaps within a week of purchase and im glad i did it

snappycat, my marks on my car were WHITE. I thought at first they were spots of something on the paint because they were just dots. Couldnt feel a ridge on them. I went to a body shop to ask about paint protection and had them look at the dots and they verified they were actual tiny chips in the paint cause by the tires flinging sand and dirt from the roads up at highway speeds. so since they were white, you might not be able to see them on your white car

Went back and forth with this decision and wound up NOT going with them, but, had the premium expel applied the entire length on the bottom up around 12" or basically in line with the rear feature seam line.

I wanted some kind protection so it was either deal with an expel seam line which is not very noticeable at all, or live with mud guards. ----- some folks are doing both.

For some reason I always worried about rock chips bouncing back against the mud gaurd (ricocheting) back onto the painted wheels causing rock chips on them; but, there's no evidence that can occur to my knowledge?

Townie I have no aftermarket or dealer installed paint protection.
You can be the judge when you see mine.
I don't drive on gravel roads, but I do run airstrips which aren't excactly clean pavement...
Always tape the rear quarters at the strip or airstrip
But I do have 13K or 8000 miles without issue...

I have them because I run DR's all the time and they seem to pick up alot more pebbles because of the stickyness.
