Anyone look at the Ventus R-S3 (Version 2) tires yet?

They have a 305/35-20 and it's about $180 cheaper per tire than our OE rubber.

The OE tires are rated 220 treadwear and these are 200. They could possibly be even grippier...but we need someone to try them out!

I just tried out the Cooper RS3-S tires, so it's someone else's turn!;)

Just saw these yesterday, going to run it by my resident racecar driving friend and see what he thinks. If he likes them I will try them. I want a sticky tire for the back end on the stock rims. When you changed tires did you just change the rears and leave the fronts stock pirellis?

I assume you're referring to DRs. The hope is to find some pretty sticky tires that will last longer than DRs.

Someone said these are the same tires as the Coopers...which are crap for traction!

Did you hear anything back form your racer friend on this? I'm very curious to find out how these tires compare to our factory rubber and the Cooper RS3s.

They're only rated for 168mph...the stockers are 186+. It's rare that we ever get to those speeds, but if we ever get the chance, I would rather feel safe on the tires being rated for the same speed as the stock ones.

Its my understanding that the stock tires are rated at 200+.
