It would seem that this would protect the matte finish and eliminate the need for all of the special care considerations. Xpel says that their product holds up to waxing/washing without causing the matte paint to begin to get glossy.

I would not do that on the black hood. I bet expel on the black hood will make it a gloss black

I intend to having this done. I will be talking with installers over the next 10 days or so. Based on what I have paid to have the X-pel product installed on other cars, I expect to pay $1500+/-. The unknown is the cost of the hood itself, that's a big area.

To all Satin Hood owners: Dodge published Service Bulletin Number 23-031-14 Dated Oct. 16, 2014 Group; Body. This deals specifically is how and what chemicals can be used in cleaning and caring for the Satin Hood. It states "once an area is damaged or becomes shiny, the "flat" appearance cannot be restored.
All should be sure that their Dealer has this document and has read it, before their car arrives. Your Satin Hood can and will be damaged in the Dealer cleanup area.

Also I would look into voiding the paint warranty before I did anything that might affect the factory finish. ;)
