I'm no Hellcat puritan; I've done a burnout with my Hellcat that had oncoming traffic slowdown because of bad visibility. I've had the beast up to 130mph on a three lane bridge and ripped it from 0 to 75mph more than once.....but that is less than 1% of my seat time during the first 2,000 miles.

The rest of the time, I find myself bring a completely obsessed defensive driver, like when driving a street bike.

Why, because I do not want the slightest damage to occur to my Hellcat. I don't want it in the body shop. I don't want to drive it in the rain. I don't want anyone else driving it to check for an issue I caused. I don’t want a scuffed rim. I don’t want a windshield chip, I don’t want a scratch, etc. etc. etc.

    Anyone else living this contradiction?

Its going to take me a while before I feel comfortable leaving my cat in a parking lot with the door bangers......
My wife threatened to take it shopping one day. I gave her a look and she got very apologetic .......

    LOL

I have to characterize my driving as more offensive than defensive in the Challenger. I proactively try to move past situations that seem like they may end badly. People pace me, looking at the car, press the right foot. They probably enjoy the exhaust sound anyway. Too much traffic, take the side roads - they're more fun anyway.

With every car I have ever owned. Your preaching to the choir.

I drive defensively all the time but more so in the Hellcat. After all the trouble it took to get her yeah I'm more careful. This is not to say that I drive slow. I'm worse on my Harley, but that's mere self-preservation.

Part os the reason why I may stall my car too much is because I baby the car and don't drive it like I should. I always pay more attention to other idiots on the road. This causes me to get super uptight when people simply can't drive.

I wouldn't say I'm defensive, but I am definitely way more aware and alert. Especially in heavy stop and go traffic. I did have one guy nearly rear end the truck in front of him while he was staring at my HC.

I ride streetbikes....so I drive in a very defensive mode all time be it on the bikes or my cars. The power of the HC comes in handy to get myself out of potential hazards quickly if need be just like on my bikes.
