I just drove to NY from Boston to pickup a used 2015 Sublime Hellcat with 1200 miles. So far I love the car but noticed 1st gear has no engine breaking and in fact it seems to pick up speed which is strange. Is this Normal?

I've noticed the same thing if I idle through the neighborhood in 1st gear. Doesn't stay under 10 mph for long. Most noticeable just after a cold start. Easy to ignore since I can't stay under 10 mph in this car!

I just traded in a 2014 SRT Jeep and when downshifting to first most of the time the truck would almost come to a stop or slow roll. With the Hellcat it will actually pick up speed.

Yah. Same here. Rpm can hang even as high as 3,000rpm and the car just goes on and on and on. It's a computer programming thing. You can watch your vacuum/boost gauge and the car won't build any vacuum.

Just tested mine on flat road. It accelerates to 5 mph and that's it never went over 5 mph.

You might be feeling it dumping the converter charge or unlocking the converter. It is probably normal. Since I have not noticed it. I do know if I am rolling real slow, out of the throttle, and roll back into it it locks the converter right then and I can feel that.

I don't find it to be a problem. Just odd. Prior cars require gas input to stay above a crawl. The HC doesn't like to crawl. It seems to "prowl" at a faster speed.

Mine only does it when I downshift. I can go an 1/8 mile at 2,500rpm in 1st gear. No gas input no brakes.

Congratulations on your new car. Take it to a dealer and make sure ALL of the ECU, uConnect, HK radio amp, transmission software updates, radiator recall, fuel rail recall, etc, have all been done. Get the oil changed and a new oil filter. If it still has the original factory installed filter, it's due for a change. There were lots of updates for the 15 models during the past year.

Congrats on the purchase! Welcome to the forum. Seems you got one that sat more than it was driven.

Concur on making sure you have all the updates. Check with Resume speed for your build date. A few things to double check on some of the early builds i.e. hose clamps, radiators

Mine does it too...actually can be really useful when prowling along in LA traffic.

Im glad im not crazy. I have been fighting with the dealership for over 4 monts, mine its an M6. And i can be driving at 45 MPH and let got the gas and drvie 1/2 mile and the car continues at the same speed and even the MPH goes up.
Dealer tells me they cannot replocate the issue, but the first time it happened i was going pretty fast and the car kept going, lucky its and M6 and I pressed the clutch and breaks...
