The quality of the backup camera at night is horrible. Has anyone else experienced this or do I have a bad camera?

Sucks like Linda, its horrible at night, they turned the gain up way too high and you get lots of snow, could have used a Starlight Camera but it would have cost about $500 more

It sucks, the $20 made in china one I installed on my SRT was amazing compared to this factory one. I personally don't get how these get into factory vehicles. Best one so far has been my Ford superduties, the new Chevy tahoe sucks, the Edge sucks.

How difficult are the cameras to swap out and get to work properly?

Cameras in general are pretty basic. power, ground video signal and shield. Theres quite a few to chose from out there. You could pretty much take any chrysler product and adapt one of the cameras into the existing housing.
