Drove my Hellcat to Henderson, NC on Saturday to a car show, 3-1/2 hour drive each way. Installed my new DSS shaft and new Barton shifter. Zero vibration from the shaft and no noise from the Barton. Could not be more pleased with both these mods. The factory shifter is pure-t junk comparatively speaking. Easiest way to install the DSS is with a lift. Two of us had the entire exhaust system from the header flanges to the tips out in one piece in less than 15 minutes. We didn't need any fancy ball tipped allen sockets, plenty of room to work with square tips. RTV sealed the front to transmission yoke - the messiest part of the job. Used a 3rd head in the vehicle to hit the brakes in between rotating the shaft and two stage torquing the bolts, using Loctite. Back together in less than 2 hours, had to tweak the heat shield a bit for good fit. Pulled the factory dust makers and replaced all corners with Evolution. Before tackling the Barton I did my interior and myself a favor and purchased an 11 piece plastic trim tool kit and a Tyvek suit for me. Made removals clean, simple and cuss free. About an hour on the R/I for the shifter, straight forward with the aid of quality instructions from right here on our forum.

The factory shifter is like a wet noodle, has a hard time finding the gate, making missing a gear easier. The Barton has no slop, is real crisp, has a shorter throw and snaps into gate real easily. Shifts like butter even with no chicken bones in my right foot. Right now I'm using the flat aluminum stick with the round black ball. Dave at Barton is sending me a pistol grip to try out once produced, any day I expect arrival.

Barton shifter is on my list. I used the Hurst in my other Challengers. It was a good unit shifting wise but man was it noisy!

I have been told the Barton doesn't make anywhere near the noise the Hurst makes.

The Barton makes no more noise than the stock one as far as I can hear...

Ordered my pistol grip and short throw shifter from Barton as well. Waiting for the pistol grip with the inlay Sublime Green lettering and then installing all. Pics to come.

On my 09 I had the Hurst short throw shifter... wasn't impressed. Easy install but I'm not sure it improved much... that was the one thing I didn't like is the Tremec shifted like a truck. The one M6 Cat I sat in it seemed like it shifted a lot smoother! The Barton shifter looks even more rugged than the Hurst.
