I have about 2500 miles on my Challenger Hellcat, about 700 with the Barton shifter base and stock handle. The shifter was initially tight with predictable positive movements, but lately I have noticed a drastic increase in side to side play, comparable to the stock shifter. Still tight fore and aft, but the side to side play aggravates me trying to hit 5th, which is why I bought this in the first place....Anyway I did put the car in the air to make sure all the shifter linkage bolts were tight and the shifter arm pins were installed/clipped. No issues. Pulled the boot up and made sure everything was tight there too. The movement looks like its in the shifter base.

Here are two videos. This is with the trans in 6th, which is the worst example of the play. First video shows movement at the handle, second looking into the shifter base.

Is this typical performance? Its not what I was expecting.

They think something's loose too. I will check everything again, see if I can get my neighbor to come move the shifter while I am underneath looking at the mounts

I couldnt find any loose mounts. Pulled the shifter. Shifter feels fine on the bench. Only area with some play is what I would call the knuckle that attaches to the shift rail. That piece itself has a little play that is getting exaggerated by the length/offset of the shifter arm. This would make it seem like the play is typical, but yet everyone that has responded says its not typical?

Note: I know the bolt is loose, I didnt take the picture until after I removed it
