Hello all..so I just installed my power stop brake pads. The instructions says to do five hard stops from 40 to 5 then five hard stops from 35 to 10 then cool down without stopping.. Here is my problem,,I live in the city,, there is no were to do this kind of break in, there is traffic, stop lights. What would happen if I just jumped on the freeway and gave it a nice twenty mile drive..please share your thoughts..I'm two stop lights from the freeway entrance..

Have your wife follow you for a butt blocker. Really go on highway 70 down to 45 then 1 minute no brakes then repeat 5 times.

Just find a nice clear side street with a little room. That is what I did.

Wait until later at night. You are sure to have a secluded street somewhere. Bedded mine exactly how they prescribe. Stops great, almost zero dust.

Empty parking lot, behind Walmart, Homedepot, or any other giant building. Or as stated wait until night and do it on a side street or the shoulder of the hwy with your hazards on.

Don't mean to hijack but have question. Is anyone else having a problem when they get wet. After washing Cat, they grab and squeal. And yes I did bed them as per instructions. Except for this problem they do stop great and very little dust.

I dry my wheels with a leaf blower. I have no issues at all after blowing all the water out of them.

Contrary to popular belief, the dust comes from the rotor/disc hence the iron residue on the wheels etc. I guess these pads are less aggressive thus wear faster than OEM pads?

I went for a drive at 4AM to do the bedding procedure. No problem finding open space at that time.

I've had the Zeckhausen Ceramic pads on all 4 of my SRT8's for a few years now, they need to be warmed up properly (10-15 minutes of normal driving) and then they stop great and no dust and less wear on the rotors.
When they are wet and/or cold they do squeal in reverse but that's a small price to pay for great stopping and no rotor warping or hotspots (zero vibration on hard stops).

They are great brakes. I've had mine on for 1400 miles and I love them. You will be pleased, just bed them.
