Anyone noticed on cars.com and dealer sites that most of the new cats are black? I'm wondering if cars get built in color batches or everyone just likes black. I ordered a pitch black car because I like the color but it also make the "big" car look a little smaller. Now, since I don't have a VIN, thinking of changing color since it looks like most are black or red. Maybe B5.

Black seems to be the preferred color.

I doubt it. They have different colors, the green then red is popular.
I think it depends on the options ordered.

My side note is: the satin black hood option, they are a few but not many that ordered black cars with the satin black hood option. Since the hoods are on a hold, they are building cars without the satin black hood option, hence more black cars out there.

By my count (based on the colors for about 240 cars in KZL status listed in another post), the black colors account for nearly 50% while the sublime is 22%; the red colors combined account for 18%. So if you happen to see a hellcat, there's around a 90% chance it'll be black, sublime, or red. I'm going with granite (3%). The blue is 1%.

Have the Pitch black on my 12 392 love it but its tough to keep looking clean. so we made a change. If I did not already have one in black that would have been my choice ( Phantom Black)

I've heard the pitch black looks better than anything else when it's clean and polished... But it's more difficult to keep that way. I think the same goes for the satin black hood.

I'm going with granite to match my Dakota 5.9 R/T. They're going to be siblings. :)

I can personally agree to this! That is why I bought a really good car cover for the Hellcat. When it is not being driven and it is clean it will be covered up!

I don't know how true this is, but I heard that black cars are faster than the other colors that is why they are so popular. :D

when a dealer picks a color to stock they pick the most popular....black or red......a specialty color like sublime is limited to a special type of buyer......black always seems to be what i see sitting on dealership lots

it looks good on the Challenger.....it would be my last choice, but im in the minority

Black is just a bad ass color and it really makes the Challenger look meaner than it already does... My opinion of course

I have a Pitch Black, Black Laguna, Black Satin Hood. A Triple Black, so to speak.

It is a color that reminds me of a funeral. As in burying a Slo-Maro, A Rust-Thang and Plastic Pigs.

It's a Sinister thing, Kind of like Dark Vador.
