The rundown: Factory oil sent in at 820 miles
    2016 Challenger Hellcat
Overheated at 250 miles with stuck thermostat
Dealer tech did not recommend changing oil
    Car has been running great
I changed the oil at 820 miles to Amsoil Signature Series 0-40
    Changed to SRT filter
    Added Dimple Magnetic plug
I will be sending them another sample at 2000 miles.

Has anyone else sent them a sample in this early? I would like to see some other results if you have them? I will update after my next oil change.

I like Blackstone and send samples all the time. None on the Hellcat yet as I just got it but on my past cars I have. Sometimes they have a great sense of humor during their summary.

I wouldn't sweat it. I do oil analysis at every oil change. My oil looked like crap until the third change. Takes a while to get all the crap out of these motors.... That's why I like shorter oil change intervals...

Got my first analysis back, it was done by Exxon Mobil's lab Mobilserv our supplier for lube oils and analysis of our natural gas and diesel engines offshore. Factory fill changed at 2,250 miles and now running Mobil 1 0-40. My readings seem pretty consistent with what you guys have on yours, will probably do next change and sample around 5,500 - 6,000 miles B5 Hellcat Oil Sample 2,250 miles.jpg

What is the first reccomended oil change interval? I see people post that they are changing their oil anywhere from 500 mi to the post above at 2250 mi. I guess the standard 3000 miles does not appy here?

The owners manual shows 6,000 but I think it is more of a personnel preference but I know I would not go that long on the first change, I opted for 2,000 same as I did on my RT previously. I figured by that time the engine is broke in and all wear metals created during the break in process and the next sample should come back fairly clean.

I have not changed mine yet, and just turned 4,000 miles. I am planning to do it every 5,000 miles. That way, it is easy to tell when the next oil change is, on the 5's and 10's. And it is still a little more often than the recommended 6,000 miles interval. I did this with my previous 6.1, and my wife's expedition as well.

I changed mine @ 500 & 1500mi. Next change will be at 5k then per factory spec. or at least once a year thereafter. Sitting at 2,195mi. now...not a daily driver. I had samples from both oil changes analyzed by Blackstone. So far so good...
(I also document the mileage on my fuel receipts if that tells ya anything... In fact I have a 3-ring binder 'filled to the gills' with every single document that came from both the factory & dealer plus magazines, advertisements etc.)...
