It's too much car to drive around in traffic and every day, even with the black key. When i started it up in my drive way my kids jumped and the 3 cats we have went flying in the air.. It's a wicked beast that shakes my 3000sq ft house!
After about 3 weeks I got it Cilijeted (acrylic coating used on jets) detailed and put it in my garage..

I picked up a Passat TDI (diesel) to drive around in everyday which is getting between 700-800 per tank.. My plan is to drive the hellcat once and awhile but let it age like fine wine, protected in the garage. They are very tough to get and I think it will appreciate if i keep it cherry and supply continues to be contained.

For those of you that think this can be a daily driver, think again :).. Sweet ride but way too nice to pound on it every day! If you only use it to tool around town that's fine but if you commute, forget it.. You'll need a second car.. I actually with I had kept my RT but the TDI is awesome cause my kids fit in the back without complaining and kicking my seat the whole time!!! :)

Many folks use these as daily drivers. They are not ultra-rare, nor are they only being made for a single year, so I don't think it's a case of needing to coddle them and let them lay dormant much of the time. And they are certainly plenty driveable, smooth and easy to operate, very streetable even in a heavy traffic, I've sat in bumper to bumper traffic more than once, and mine is a six-speed, no issues at all.

Drive my 'Cat every day except when there are reports of possible hail. I drive with the red key too. It's a car, its meant to be driven and enjoyed. If you want an investment, go buy some ocean front property lol  Driving my Hellcat makes my once boring commute more enjoyable and I arrive to work smiling. Parking it in a garage and only taking it out every once in a while just seems like a waste of an amazing machine. Just my two cents.

I try to drive it whenever I can, wherever I go. I look for places to go :p I have yet to use the black key, I guess I should try it sometime. After driving it for a few thousand miles, both highway and city the car is no longer " an insane uncontrollable monster." Very controllable, very tame and timid until you step on its tail real hard, then the tame and timid go away but still very controllable. Absolutely love it!!!

I drive it EVERYDAY and EVERYWHERE! For no reason other than just to drive it! It's not a 6 figure car to be set around and taken out every once in a blue moon. It was meant to be driven hard and frequently. To each his/her own, but I love driving this car way too damn much to let it sit in the garage and get dusty!

If I was in a position to invest money hoping for a good return, I think I could think of several items that would have a much higher possibility of a terrific return on my investment than a non limited edition car.
But I wish you luck on yours. Mine will be a well used daily driver survivor for the wife to sell.

It is actually a very comfortable DD; it is really a big GT car; I will be adding some sound deadening in the trunk too.

I've read lots of posts on this forum that made me shake my head but this one takes the cake.

You can't use this as a DD? Why the hell not? I drove my SRT8 year round for 4 years with a 46 mile ONE WAY commute and I live in Canada. Now I have my SRT 392 and I don't have as bad a commute but it will be on the road as my DD all year round.

And good luck with this car appreciating in value. Not gonna happen.

As posted above if you're looking for an investment vehicle (pun intended) do some research and invest in the stock market.

You bought the car; drive it.
