Just took possession of my charger yesterday and the brake light is on. It's giving me a low brake fluid message so I topped it off almost up to the cap and it's still on.

    Thoughts?

I fear taking it to my local service dept. hoping maybe it's something simple I can fix like a loose wire?

Start by removing the overfilled brake fluid, then, make sure the park brake is completely off. If that doesn't work, see your dealer.

Yeah I took some back out last night. There wasn't a fill line that I could see so I just filled it up even to the neck of the reservoir.

They can't get me in until next week. I'm hoping it's just a sensor or loose wire since the brakes feel good, plenty of fluid and it drives great.

How they didn't catch this on the Q A check at the factory or the dealer is beyond me. Hey, the paint looks awesome though!

Haha. Well, the dealer has to jiggle me a new master cylinder. They said it's just the sensor but it's integrated into the whole unit so they have to replace it.

Awesome. That's why I hate going to these dealers. So, is the service manager mistaken on what's being done? Is the service tech not knowledgeable enough to only replace the switch? Are they replacing the whole thing just to be safe?

So, what would you do? Go back and question them on what they are doing or just trust they know how to fix it?

Only they know why. If it's fixed, that's all that matters.

They had to order the part so it's not fixed yet. I have to go back next week.

That's why I was wondering if I should question them before letting them replace the whole thing.
