Does anyone have a lead on replacement brake rotors for the 6-piston Brembos on the 2015 Charger/Challenger SRT 392's and Hellcats? I know decent aftermarket brake pads like Powerstop Z23's are reasonably priced, but what about front rotors? They look like they are going to be a lot more expensive than the $89 each I was spending on the front rotors for my 2007 Charger SRT8.

    Answer:

Alright! I was afraid of this, but here are the part numbers and prices from Dodge:

    Front brake rotors, part# 68184587AB $892 / EACH!!!!

    Rear brake rotors, part# 5290538AC $113 each.

    Front pads, part# 68248384AB $544 a set.

    Rear pads, part# 68144223AA $115 a set.

That would be a total of $2,660 for front and rear brake parts! We need the aftermarket and we need it fast!

I can find rear rotors, but no fronts. I'm hearing the front rotors are over $800 from Dodge. I will try to confirm this Monday. We need an aftermarket manufacturer that makes front rotors that are equal to or better than stock for less- a lot less!

Just curious... Why do you need new rotors on a brand new car?

I don't, but I have always kept rotors and pads on hand for these cars when deals became available. I remember road coursing my 2007 Charger SRT8 all weekend long having a blast right after I got it. When I was done I needed tires and brakes. I bought them from Dodge and paid full price. It was over $1,100 just for pads and rotors. Shortly after that I found out that I could have purchased it all for around $600 from Zeckhausen Racing. It was an expensive weekend. After that I started keeping pads, rotors, and tires on hand to keep the immediate expense down planning ahead because I like to play. For example, I already have another set of Pirelli Pzeros in my garage I picked up on sale for less than $700. And another set of SRT wheels from my 2007. Planning ahead has kept me playing. I also plan to pickup another set of rims for drag radials. Right now I'm hearing the front rotors for these cars are extremely expensive! I'm planning to go to Miller Motor Sports Park for Wide Open Wednesday next month and I'm not going to hammer on the brakes until I have an idea of the cost. Three or four Wide Open Wednesdays and 10,000 miles of just driving will yield a brake job. I'm only months away from that. On my last car I also swapped stuff back and forth. My street rotors and pads usually went 30,000 plus miles, while my track set could last literally days.

I called Speedlogix and they can get the OEM front rotors for around $644 each. They are working on a better solution, but so far they haven't found anything aftermarket. They are working on finding just the ring since it is a two piece rotor.

In the meantime, I think I will not road course my car as it is cost prohibitive for me.

I just spoke with Zeckhausen racing. They are working on a solution as well.

Any idea why these are so expensive? Is there something specific about the rotor themselves?
