I was playing with the launch control on Saturday and we could smell the clutch getting hot. After it sat for a couple hours I went out to drive it home and it would not go in gear, and the smell of burnt clutch was bad. After carefully getting it loaded and towed to the dealership(not an easy task) I purchased the Hellcat from. They have told me that they will put in an aftermarket clutch that is rated for higher hp's if I pay the difference of the stock Tremec 6 clutch. Does anyone have a recommendation for a better aftermarket clutch that is still smooth and able to handle the power?

A salesman with McLeod is saying that the clutch in the Summit Racing will also work with the Hellcat. He says that they all use the same clutch, does anyone have any information on this?

My understanding is that the 6.4,6.1 stuff is different.

M6's are not meant for drag racing. especially with launch control.

This is an issue with all mega hp cars. Every time I got on my Shelby hard I smelled clutch. We had several failures.

Friend burnt her clutch, if your super early milage you can fight SRT to help you with the cost but otherwise this is a down side of owning a M6.

Rumor has it that the warranty covers one clutch replacement as long as it is within 12,000 miles or 1 year. Is that true?

That seems to be the rule of thumb.. 1st is covered, 2nd you're on your own
