Anybody instal a cold air intake on their 392 yet? My dad has a scat pack charger and is thinking about putting one on.

I think you'll find that the majority of responses will vote for the HellCat Air Box as the most effective. That's what I installed for my SRT and I'm very pleased with it.

How much of a pain is that to put in? I have a hellcat challenger. I guess i didn't know the hellcat airbox will go into a scat pack. Hmmm ill have to look into it? What are we looking at price wise? Have you noticed increased performance

It is extremely easy to install! All you need is the lower portion of the HellCat air-box and the funnel that connects the air-box to the headlight port. The filler plug in the inner headlight port pops out very easily from the rear. I think the lower Hellcat air-box and funnel cost roughly $70.00 from Speedlogix. Give them a call and they'll verify the price. As for increased performance? I personally haven't noticed any. But then again, I'm not into racing. I installed the unit because I just think it's a good idea to give the engine as much cool air as possible.

Headlight plug? This is on a charger scat pack. Not challenger. I don't believe there is any headlight plug on the chargers

I didn't know you had a Charger. You just mentioned a 392 and I assumed it was a Challenger. Not sure how it works with a Charger. I'm sure others will chime in.

On the scat pack Charger the Hellcat air box would have the funnel feed air from the grill near the headlight. I will probably do this mod with a K&N drop in when my Charger 392 SRT comes in.

A lot of people are going with R2C intake, volant, or Legmaker. All have similar gains and price. 15-20hp/tq. Similar price $250-$300. Much better than the Mopar CAI in price and aesthetics.

I have an R2C intake on my Scat Pack Charger.

Throttle response marginally sharper. Fuel economy unchanged. Sound is cool, it makes whoosh sounds like any self respecting cai and makes the engine roar sound louder. It runs hotter than stock. Power increase, if any, is unnoticeable. It looks great under the hood, I got the black filter and with the logo hidden it looks factory.

Overall I wish I'd saved my money. I might pull it off and sell it, and put that money in the bank for a set of long tube headers eventually.

Thanks for the review. Im waiting on a procharger system for it. They are netting 200 hp increase on the challengers and would expect the same for the charger when it comes out. That would boost it from 485 all the way up to 685 for roughly 7k. I have a challenger hellcat and my dad has the charger scat. Id love to just surprise him with 1 on his car. Tell him to drop it off for an oil change and have him get it back with a procharger haha. He loves my hellcat but getting close to retiring he had to go with the scat which was 45k opposed to the 70k hellcat

Running the Mopar CAI that I had for my 5.7 since it transferred over. Didn't seem to really make the engine louder like it does on the 5.7, but I'm sure it still does... the exhaust is just so loud as is. Temps are great as long as the car doesn't sit for minutes at a time.

I installed my R2C and I love it.
Throttle response is crisper and more responsive. Temps are same as stock as long as I don't idle too long.
Looks great under the hood! Got lots of complements at a recent show.
Exhaust sounds way louder and the air sucking noise sounds awesome. Definitely recommend it.
