Had the Beast detailed today and decided with detailer not to do ceramic. Instead will do this 4x a year. Interior had leather conditioning and tires had a tire shine put on it that doesn't spray residue on the car like an Armorall. I forgot name but he is getting me a bottle.

Price $70, I gave him a $100 and yes he has his own place. Rents (2) back bays at local VW dealer and is his only job, three guys working for him. So at this price don't mind 4x a year especially if results are very good.

    Hope you like!

Oh man, you have a B5!!! Love me some B5 blue

Looks really sharp!!! Let me know what the tire prep is when you get it, please. Is it a tire wax vs. a wet spray?

I think it is a spray wax if I understood correctly. It soaks into rubber and does not fly off and leave residue.

Would love to hear your thought process. I was talking to someone about a clear bra and CQuartz. Seems the big selling points are 'what about road rash' and also the cost. At the rate of $400 or by me $500 over time a quick wash with these surfaces creates a break even and protecta the paint.

I am putting a 3M Pro protective film on the front bumper, mirrors & under door handles - ordered yesterday. In regards going with a good waxing rather than the ceramic - old fashion I guess. All the detailers I spoke with (4) to be exact that didn't have skin in the game said the cermaic had to be re-done also every year for it to be at it's full "benefit". Now is this true - don't know and I'm sure there is multiple opinons. Also, asked some questions on the AutoGeek forum and the responses didn't convince me. The pics I have seen look great of the nano coatings but I haven't been lucky enough to see one in person, at least that I was aware of. Given this I decided a quality pure wax combined with a good process on the cleaning end is fine, looks great and is less expensive, again given that the nano coatings have to be re-done. That is basically it in a nut shell.
