Well looking to purchase a Challenger Hellcat soon. This will be my daily driver. Anybody have to use a child's Car seat in the back every now and then? We have a 3 year old and my wife usually does the family hauling but on that rare occasion once maybe twice a month I will need to pick up from School. So can it be done?
I want a Challenger no I'm not getting a Charger.

Yes Car seats in the middle are acceptable.
You have to make sure whichever seat you choose fits well in Center!
Different manufacturers have different fits either front or rear facing.
Find a store that will let you test fit.
I Used a Black sheet over my seats with seatbelt buckles cut out and Non Slip cushion under kid seat so sharp edges of seat base wouldn't damage the leather.
Had this for 5 years, now just a booster. Worked well for me!
Seats kept pristine,no food or drink allowed in car lol
    Hope this helps!

I dunno. I'd get a Charger instead. Getting in to the Challenger back seat is difficult enough, tougher with a child in tow. There is plenty of room once you get there, but getting there was too difficult for me to go that route.

I use a car seat and the middle idea won't work well, the kids feet will be resting on your center console all the time. My boy sits rear passenger side with plenty of space for a front passenger as well. Though if I don't have a front passenger then I have the seat all the way up and my son then has tons of leg room.

My boy is 7 so he climbs in by himself and buckles/unbuckles himself so its a bit different vs a 3 year old.

Dodge/Mopar makes a car seat that is built for the Charger... I'm not sure it works in the Challenger.

    Get the Charger.

I can fit my 3 year old in the backseat in his car seat, but the center isn't stable enough, you MUST use one of the seats on the side, not the center. No matter what you do, you can't get it locked down as well in the center (we have tried). I have zero side to side movement in the side seats.

Problem is, to keep his feet from being crushed, my wife has to sit almost on top of the dashboard. It's not fun, and as he grows it will get worse.

Good news is that the seat moves so far forward when you're putting the kiddo back there, that she can stand up on the floor behind the passenger seat, bending at the waist to buckle him in. She isn't forced to either stand outside reaching in to buckle him, or hunch over in some odd way inside the car to do it.

Get a Charger. A Challenger CAN work, but it's not fun for anyone.

I have 2 kids, 2 and 5, and the Charger. I put two car seats in the back with no problem. They're Britax and fit well. I went with the Charger for easier ingress/egress from the back. It's my daily driver and needed to be a little more family friendly. I've done the 2 door family car and it's just a bit more of a hassle. Not impossible by any means, but just harder.

Has anyone thought of putting their child next to a side air bag?
In My Opinion The middle is the safest place to put a child in,
Their feet are kept warm/cool from console vents.
(You really have to weight the child seat and settle it into The seat
foam so it does not rock, while cinching the belt and tether down)
More cleaning for that, but I would take the trade-off of...
a mess there, if it is safer for the child!

Just like the front passenger seat, when there is a light load detected in the seat, the corresponding airbag is turned off for child safety.

You cannot get a safe fitment in the center. And you don't use the child's weight to push the seat down... you put YOUR weight into it (by putting your knee in the car seat, putting all your weight on it, and pulling the straps as hard as humanly possible) to tighten it down. If you go out and grab the top of the car seat and push side to side, yours moves. Mine doesn't.

I have my 3 and 6 year olds in the car all the time. My 3yo has the full car seat and my 6yo has a booster. Works just fine. I put down a big micro fiber cloth under the car seat, as it has some sharp edges. Only thing to watch for is your 3yo kicking the back of the front seat with dirty little shoes! Totally not a reason to get a Charger. I don't have any problems and the kids love it.

You can see my 3yo in my avatar picture.

Gone are the days when I used to drive my father's car sitting in his lap at 7 years old. LOL. That was pretty common back in the 70s, Yet somehow we all survived that I know of. Not saying to do this today, just not to worry with the far greater safety with your kid secured in the back. You'll be fine even with the 2 doors if you enter/exit from the passenger side, which I assume is why that seat is non-powered to make it easy to slide forward.

Awesome! There is hope for me yet. Thank you all so much going from a Toyota Land Cruiser to this will be different for sure but I have my heart set on a Cat and a challenger at that. If he was traveling with me everyday I would not even consider it but the occasionail once or twice a month like I was saying I'm thinking it's do able.

very doable, I'm 6'1" 210 lbs and when I go to put the seat into the back, I am standing behind the front passenger seat (bent over of course) while I install it. That passenger seat moves so far forward you'd be shocked at the room back there.

As for kids shoe prints on the back of the seat....well you have kids, its nearly impossible to keep everything you have nice and clean but that is part of the fun of having kids, builds character.
