Thinking of pulling the trigger on a one piece drive shaft.
Is it better to spend the extra $$$ and go with the carbon fiber drive shaft.
Anyone know the pros and cons of each type.
I am sure I read somewhere that the carbon fiber shaft has a bit of twist on launch so is kinder on the drive train.
    Your thoughts ?

aluminum is cheaper but bigger diameter (4"), CF is about 3.5" but more $$$, my choice would be CF, less damage to you and the car if it shatters.

i saw some pictures of what the factory DS did to a Charger and a splintered DS may be better than a twisted broken stock or Aluminum DS
    what's your opinion StellasHC?

I think I would crap my pants if any of the 3 broke while I was driving!!! Lol

The owner of the CF one I posted is Ross Kirkendoll. He has broken a CF and Aluminum from DSS. He is now running a custom steel unit.

I'm installing the CF one next week. I've run a DSS carbon fiber DS in my low 9 second Magnum for about three years with no issues. Was the one that twisted a six speed car?

I like the CF because it's lighter and stronger than the aluminum. To me, it's worth the extra money.

i couldn't justify almost double the price when the car doesnt need it...i bought aluminum

i have yet to hear of a 13/14 GT500 doing that to a drive shaft and many are mod'd to HC power+

maybe DSS just has a manufacturing problem with their CF DS's

Look for an Dodge upgraded DS for 2017-2018 if Dodge decides to give the hc 10-20 more HP

they shouldnt advertise their car doing 10.8 with DR's if doing a 10.8 with DR's can break the stock DS.....where to cut costs to keep the car at $59,999? i know where

i cant feel my DS right now....and i doubt i feel it when i saw it out in 10 days to the Aluminum one...maybe at 190mph you can feel less vibration..

I'll check, but I think the 10.8 runs lasted for 5-6 runs. I think Dodge knows the driveshaft is the weak link; purposefully.
