    For those who do not read the whole manual (like me), some important info . . .

    paraphrased from the owner's manual: If you are required to drive with the trunk lid open, make sure that all windows are closed and the climate control BLOWER switch is set at high. The purpose is to minimize the amount of colorless, odorless CO in the car.

    Without giving it any real thought, I would have thought that windows wide open would be better, but I guess having the windows open can create a pressure pull, pulling in air flow from back side of the car. It does make sense, though. Having all windows closed and blower full on, creates increased pressure and the only place left for air to flow is outward through the trunk.
