I'm in the camp waiting for Android Auto. I strongly doubt these will come to our cars though. The built-in apps take so ungodly long to start, I have to believe that part of supporting this newer tech is a faster processor and more memory. I'd be delighted to be wrong of course!

You think a uconnect hardware upgrade would be as simple as a traditional radio head unit swap? If they come out with the new software functionality I'm pretty sure my slow 2015 UConnect hardware won't cut it. I would be very tempted to upgrade it all though!

If all you 2015 guys think the 2016s are rolling around with lighting speed Uconnect processors, let me tell you that the 2016 is still fairly slow, IMO. The thing is still buggy as well - some times the gauges get stuck or I have to kill the app and restart.

It can be done. Mirrow display of your phone but you need a kit from Customtronix Chrysler/Dodge/Ram ICOS RAX-jailbreak SILVER | Customtronix you have to have the AppleTV and the cable. However I am working on a more elegant solution.

I posted this elsewhere but the OS that UConnect runs is QNX which is owned by Blackberry of all people. It is the one and very same that Apple Carplay runs on. So trying to see if FCA will support an app like they do with Pandora, iHeart Radio etc. I am not convinced the processor in the Harmon radio is a limiting factor, and still trying to find out what kind of processor it is. So what I am saying is Apple Carplay should be able to be supported on any 2015 or 2016 Harmon radio. After all these cars have internet and even can be upgraded via a file on a USB stick as was with the security update FCA had to do.

I'll have to investigate a bit more, I'm a droid guy so no Apple for me.

I would focus on the cable and unlocking the software to enable mirror.
