I performed the 15.17.5 Firmware flash about 5 days ago and thought I noticed a more "throaty" "deeper" (deep throat?) tone to the exhaust note after warm up while driving 35 - 50 MPH and using only very light acceleration. At first I thought I was imagining this, but while driving every day since then, I continue to hear a difference (which I like a lot). I have only driven in the default or street mode and can't comment about other modes. The cold start tone also seems to be much louder since the flash. Has anyone else noticed this (or other) changes?

HMMmmmm,,,,. Interesting observation. Although I only have the SRT 392, I updated my UConnect yesterday and took a quick test drive after the firmware install. I don't recall hearing any difference, but maybe that's because I don't have the Hellcat. I'll listen more closely the next time I take her out.

No difference here. It would be hard to tell this thing is loud all the time.

After the last flash from the dealer of the ECU I noticed the same thing.... Less supercharger whine too which sucks, IMO.

How could an ECU flash effect supercharger whine?

I think mine sounds deeper, but I am attributing that to the 9k miles. Seems to be getting deeper the more I drive it...

Can't explain how/why but the sound changed after the last flash, the exhaust seems louder, deeper as other have pointed out. Maybe that's why I don't hear it as much.

I wondered the same thing as well. That's what's puzzling about the change my ears perceive. From the few responses so far, it appears that I'm not alone, though. Hopefully, in time there will be an explanation for this.

You should check your radio eq settings after you do the update. I have noticed the couple of times I have done it on my Jeep and the one time I did on my viper that the settings were all changed back to default and the balance and fade was set to one corner of the vehicle. Maybe this has changed slightly and you are just hearing the exhaust more because of it. And the speed sensitive volume was also turned off.

Good idea but I don't use the audio system very much and my observations have been made with the audio off. Just a thought as I write this: Surely FCA wouldn't try to slip in piped in exhaust sounds like some of the foreign cars, would they? That would be a disappointment if they did!
