Hi Everyone. Since there are a lot of "I just got my hellcat" threads that are popping up/will be popping up....I thought it'd be a good idea to get one centralized thread where people can post their impressions, etc of their new hellcat. This includes likes/dislikes...whatever you want to write about your cat is fair game.

This will also allow for questions for those of us waiting on our cats.

    Ready? GO!

I love it. Only drove it 3 miles home and it'll sit in the garage till the snow is gone. Summer tires stink in 0 degree weather. More incentive not to drive it when it's cold. Ride is solid, like it should be but not harsh. Sound is incredible!

My only beef right now is the lack of a shark fin cover over the GPS antenna. Just looks sad. Should have at least had a painted cover over it. Conflicting info on why it isn't there for us Canadians.

Is it covered or painted on the American cats?

BramptonBuilder says that all cars, US and Canada should have the shark fin in a box in the trunk. The GPS antenna is just a black rectangular box. I'll shoot a pic of it tomorrow.

Agree looks like all the canadian car don't have the shark fin (Scoutermike and RCC turbos anyways). Lame, I wonder if you can buy it or something?

    Bump.

I'm a little "disappointed" by the lack of real world reviews.
I guess most of you who have taken delivery aren't able to drive it because of weather?

Let's get some stuff on here! :)

RS might chime in but I don't think that there have been great numbers delivered to those that will drive them every day yet.

I'm looking forward to some videos and 1/4 mile passes probably just as much as some are looking forward to getting their cars. I shouldn't be this excited for a car I haven't even seen yet in person, but I am

Driven every single day since I got it one week ago.
Covered 1000 kms in one week, including a snow sorm.
Only update to my initial impressions posted below, is that it is not very good in snow! The Pirelli Winter Sottozero are very good in cold/dry/damp conditions, but are just too wide for any amount of snow.
In spite of the winter challenges, I love the car - feels very special to drive, even if I can only floor it in 4th gear and higher.
    Sounds great.
Transmission is the best high performance auto in the business (better than ZF for this application).
Auto start, heated seats, heated steering - can't do without those in winter!

Hellcat trans is a ZF. Normal 8 speeds are made in Kokomo, IN. under licence from ZF but this one comes straight from ZF in Germany.

While I agree that generally wider tires are worse than skinny tires in snow, even my stock all seasons have done just fine in snow. Drove on 3" of unplowed highway snow at 50-60 mph with no issues. Plenty of slush and ice driving too and also fine.

Scoutermike already pointed out that the A8 IS a ZF trans.

Delivered on Monday. Poor weather, even ice in Texas is slowing the controlled race to 500 mile break-in.
    Review to come . . .
