Ok guys...I wanted to post this as a cautionary tale.

Let me say before anything else. Other than what is listed below...I have NOINSIDER INFORMATION. this is speculative on some fronts but i think it is worth mentioning in the general section of this forum.

so anyone following the update thread knows that I"ve been whining like a baby because my hellkitty was in buffalo for two weeks. I live in south florida and thought that perhaps some buffalo bills fan was messing with me. in any case...it finally left buffalo and is on it's way to her home here in sunny florida.

One of our members here (Lighty) mentioned that he heard there was a quliaty audit and that was the hold up. His source is his source. RS doesn't seem to know about this...although if true, I'm sure he will hear of it. (RS YOU ARE THE MAN).

So I got a random text today from my wife's uncle who works for Dodge. He knows that I have an order for a hellcat and asked if I had taken delivery yet. He told me they've had issues with paint on a few of the deliveries. This seems to coincide with one member's problem with their paint. Apparently, some of the paint looks like it is running and then was clear coated on top of it. it wasn't an isolated incident i think. He told me it was noticed over the top of the trunk and on thehood.

This would explain the 2 week "quality control" delay for my car (if accurate).

More than anything else, I wanted to post this as a PSA...CHECK YOUR CARS THOROUGHLY..CHECK THEIR PAINT...PRAY IT LOOKS PERFECT!

    best of luck everyone

Well only thing I can say is anything is possible from the factory until you inspect it in person. I sincerely hope it's ok when it arrives

Just look it over real good when inspect it with the dealer. I'm sure it will be fine if they ship to the dealer.

won't the dealer have your car detailed inside the shop for you to inspect. My dealer always had my cars in the back of the shop all nice and ready for delivery. Don't look at it wet or at night outside.

I'm not paranoid big guy...It's a PSA. I'm doing it to help others. I'm not obsessing over this...I have family that works for dodge and has seen the shotty paint on other hellcats. That's not paranoia, that's fact.

If it doesn't apply to you and you don't care, then you need not respond. Your sarcasm isn't needed.

Btw, here's our member with a bad paint job...

Actually, the lighting in many large parking lots (malls, big box stores etc.) really makes every little paint defect POP !!

I have to say Linda's Charger is perfect, thought there may be issues because of it being Redline pearl but not one issue to complain about..

Will they buy the car back if you have several issues?

I have a B5 charger and the paint is severely flawed, bumper, hood, roof, fender, and trunk lid. All under the clear. Tomorrow a Chrysler rep is coming out to see it, thinking they are just gonna give the dealer the ok to repaint, not to happy about that but I'll be damned if I wait another 6 months for my baby. But yea, there is a factory flaw all over my particular paint.
