    Car and Driver review
    2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS Automatic

    Highs and Lows

    Highs:
Uncommonly precise chassis, stonking performance, spectacular seats and steering wheel.
    Lows:
Still can’t see out of the thing, hanging your arm out the window can cause hyperextension of your shoulder, some ergonomic miscues.

    Car and Driver test results:
    C/D TEST RESULTS:
Zero to 60 mph: 3.9 sec
Zero to 100 mph: 8.9 sec
Zero to 120 mph: 13.1 sec
Zero to 150 mph: 25.1 sec
Rolling start, 5-60 mph: 4.0 sec
Top gear, 30-50 mph: 2.3 sec
Top gear, 50-70 mph: 2.7 sec
    Standing ¼-mile: 12.3 sec @ 116 mph
Top speed (governor limited, C/D est): 165 mph
    Braking, 70-0 mph: 147 ft
    Roadholding, 300-ft-dia skidpad: 0.98 g

Hellcats have about a year left I think for being the baddest for the buck. But feel the Camaro ZL1 is going to match the Hellcat. Hope I am wrong but I think Chevy is taking it up a notch. The SS NOW Meets and or BEATS THE SRT WHICH THATS TOO BAD!!!!!
    R/T Scat Pack 6.4 Coupe RWD 6M 4.4 sec 12.9 sec @ 113 mph Car and Driver
    R/T Scat Pack 6.4 Coupe RWD 8A 4.2 sec 12.6 sec @ 114 mph Car and Driver
    R/T Scat Pack 6.4 Coupe RWD 8A 4.2 sec 12.6 sec @ 112.3 mph Motor Trend
    SRT 392 Coupe RWD 8A 4.7 sec 12.8 sec @ 106 mph Motor Week
Have to wonder about the Motor Week numbers????

going to be an impressive car for the $$....going to knock the 392 into 2nd place....will Ford answer by upping its 5.0 HP(i think so).....so 3rd place is soon for the 392..

cant compete with -500lbs and similar HP

cruised with some modern muscle this past weekend.....camaro early 2000's generation....guy with shaved head, wife beater shirt, exhaust was so bad it burned my eyes, wouldnt even start(took 3 tries)......i was going to pass him, but i figured him for the a-hole type who would floor it if i tried.......ended up feeling like vomiting at the mid point of the cruise from the nasty exhaust........i quit and went home........i thought the whole time----typical old camaro guy

I don't think I will ever feel inadequate with 707HP.

Yeah guys with shaved heads are bad news. And clearly, those who can't afford to buy hellcats like us, are second class citizens.

What can I say, until the hellcat goes on a diet,, lighter cars will give us a run for our money.. That being said, maybe dodge will up our horsepower. I for one enjoy how big our cars are,, I have yet to sit in a new mustang, but the Camaro I not a car to spend a lot of time in. Just my thoughts

I don't see GM making a production Camaro comparable to a Hellcat or GT500. Too much bean counting and they'd never let a Camaro trump any of the Vette's numbers. Either way, I couldn't care less.

Let them keep knocking, they need to bust the door down and get a little more serious or take the junk out of their back seat, trunk and half their suspension, because we just had a member run 10.62 with only adding slicks. ZR1 is not close to that number!

I think is good for everyone to have competition. I hope they are able to make something with similar stats.
And i think to myself, what a wonderful world.

I agree, it is a great time to walk into a any brand car dealer and buy horsepower.... It's just like 1970 all over again but bigger and better.

As for the Camaro, well it's still a Chevy.......

Yes, that is easy, I believe the Scats are in the 11's.

    Edit..A good 392 A8 will give a M6 Hellcat great concern.
