Say goodbye to the Dodge Dart and Chrysler 200

Was really hoping they would bring in a Dart SRT to rival STI's,Evo's,ST's but that isn't happening now...

I was looking at a Dart a couple months back to replace the wife's Mini Cooper S. The salesman I got my Cat from and the SRT Tech told me the Darts were junk and NOT to buy one.

I certainly see a whole bunch more Darts and Chrysler 200's around here than I do Fiat 500's....

EDIT: And the non turbo model Dart is a slow pig....I test drove one and it reminded me of driving a Vega back in the 70's. I know someone that has a new turbo Dart model and he loves the thing!

Aw, that is a shame, because Marty and I had a loaner Chrysler 200 last May and loved it! Nice car, and not nearly as small on the interior as we initially thought. I guess they were just not that popular.

I thought the rumor was a 300hp AWD SRT Dart was coming? Didn't it even have that on their future product timeline?

That was Pre-FCA take over on the 5 year plans. They have completely changed the 5 year plans as the Dart and 200 weren't selling

I thought the 200 was a sharp looking car and planned to get a AWD "S" to replace the Avenger when the time came...until I sat in 1 and realized how low the roofline was. I could never get used to having the roof cutting into my line of vision. At 6-2 I'm not a huge guy so unless it didn't bother you only people under 6' could drive one

Disappointing too as it was a really nice car in every dept besides that

And that's total crap; clearly your salesman and the SRT tech don't know shit. They are not junk, not even close.

Haha, uh no. The Dart SRT wasn't pre-FCA, the Dart didn't EXIST pre-FCA!

The 200 actually sells decently enough, the Dart has never sold all that well. This is all more BS from Sergio with a partner, he's sold on partnerships and is slowly going to ruin Chrysler.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with either car, the Dart needs a refresh and relaunch, the 200 is a fine car as-is and merely needs a styling tweak in a year or two.

Eh kind of both rental cars to me. No big loss. Should bring a fresher more competitve option to market for both cars. Even the Durango needs work. Would much prefer the GC over that.

Except for the 9 speed issues, The car is useless to anyone in the upper 5 feet category (6 feet making it unusable) which suprisingly a large portion of people interested in that car are having height issues. The 200 sold well because of the massive amount of rentals they sold off.

I'm 6'2" and fit just fine. Even had my daughter sit right behind me to check her room....not an issue.

Yeah - the room was there...even in back seat - the roofline was just cutting into my line of forward vision. Maybe I would get used to it but it was certainly lower in this regard compared to the Avenger

I just think it's a shame that the Dart name is going away. I was kinda hoping that when they first came out that they would do something retro with the body style....but then again, the old Dodge Darts weren't very aerodynamic at all...

    I'd still love to have a Dart Swinger with a 383 though...but I'd settle for a Demon with a 340!!
