Anyone have experience with this product or something like it to protect the windshield from rock chips?

I do. Have had on since the first day. Bit overpriced but works like a champ. Especially in AZ with all the rocks. I only have 1000 miles on my cat and don't drive it much and want to keep the windshield original for as long as I can so the rediculous cost of the clear plex didn't out weigh my wants... Good luck.

JUNK had it on all my SRT's.
It starts to show wiper marks bad and becomes very hard to see out at night after 6 months from the scratches the wipers cause.
I decided to have it taken off all cars its was a waste of $$$.

So I am guessing you don't use the wipers with it in sunny AZ did you install yourself or have someone do it?

I checked it out and the dealer talked me out of it! They said no way for a daily driver. Won't last, scratches from wipers etc.

I think they said best case was a year out of the stuff. It cost more than a windshield replacement but of course nobody wants to change the windshield if it could be avoided.

I was surprised and pleased with their honesty. The stuff was not cheap!

My car has never seen rain but I can tell u windshields in az get sandblasted in weeks. This does the trick and works like a champ. An original mopar windshield is like 800 bones and like I said I'm keeping the car original factory equip so the 400 for it was worth it for me. U can get a new piece of glass non factory for 350 but never goes in the same and someone is screwing with ur cat to install. For me it was well with it and holds up like a champ and has already saved my glass from rock chips.

There is no installer here in northern IL I can find. So thinking to order a kit and have the Xpel installer put it on. I don't plan to drive my car in the rain either so should work out. Also if I ever had to replace the glass it would only be with factory glass. This may just be worth it to keep the original glass.
