I've read on here before about some people's clutches going out with less than 1500 miles on them,is the next one lasting awhile, mine just went last weekend with 1450 miles on it,dealer says they only replace one, never had one go out before ,have had plenty of manual cars and run them alot harder that my challenger hellcat, is this a very weak link?

You are in need of bad boyzz clutch kit for the cat way better hands down. But yes this is something that people with the m6 have been reporting

What I was thinking, since they only replace it one time probably what I will buy, hope this one last, told them I wanted the whole thing replaced,I think I had the clutch pushed in for several minutes then ran it hard and it was already warm,it acts like it isn't disengaging all the way when clutch pedal is pushed down

Yea sounds like you have given it one hell of a glaze fitting its from a hellcat but no that has been the typical thread i see burnt or dead pedal they replace it with a bad boyzz clutch system and bam no more issue's at lease i have yet to read about an issue from after the fact so i'm assuming all is good

The OE clutch is NOT rebuildable.
People have been getting between 1000- 10,000 miles out of them, depends on driver and conditions.
If you use Drag Radials on a Prepped surface you will DESTROY it in short order......
    Mine lasted 8500 miles.
Bad Boyzz make both a twin plate and a triple plate. Both are Completely rebuildable!!!
My car is now running a Bad Boyzz twin.
Just finished the breakin period with it and I have too say it's BAD ASS!!
Pedal is just as easy as stock too push, maybe easier.
Clutch engagement on the OE clutch is only inches from the floor while on the bad Boyzz clutch you only have to dip into the pedal for full engagement. No need to push the pedal to the carpet every shift = faster shifting...
It seems to accepts gears better at WOT with the new clutch compared too stock.
And it's Definately putting more power to the tires and not bleeding it off with clutch slippage.
    No more burnt clutch smell!!!
IMHO you get what you pay for....
There are now other options besides Bad Boyzz, I can't speak to those. But what I can tel you is the Bad Boyzz clutch is money WELL spent.
No regrets here, one happy customer!!!!

Like I said depends on driver and how the car is used.
If it's just a cruiser that never sees track use , it should last a good while.
But mine like many others has been down the 1320 as well as a few airstrips and it Definately took a toll.
Putting drag radials on and launching at 4K was the final blow... LOL
Mine only made 5 runs with drag radials and had 8k miles at the time.
Went up in smoke real quick ......
Wouldn't hold the power in fourth gear after that

Some people in the know about the factory clutch said Dodge took the wrong road with the Hellcat clutch. Now, there is another point of view, 6 speed gear box first gear is to tall for drag track.

The clutch along with all of the other component of the car or put through very rigorous tests. The clutch is so different to me anyway from my 14 RT that I had. That being said with the car only being a sub daily driver for me the more seat time I have in the car the better I will drive the car. Bad boys clutch is a lot beefier and better built however if your car is driven right there should be no issues

    That's just FUNNY!!
"If your car is driven right there should be no issues"
Maybe if Dodge put a decent clutch in these cars that was rated for the weight of the car and was able to take some hard launching on a prepped surface....
    Unfortunately they did not!!

Of course people will take the cars to the track, the CEO of the company said that's what the car was made for...
Unfortunately they cut corners on the clutch and running it at a strip really isn't an option with stock clutch..
You can run it, but it won't last.

Has NOTHING to do with how good a driver you are??!!

The clutch couldn't last longer if you drive the car? I agree with your points completely. I simply tried to say that if driven in a normal way it could last longer. The car is a supercharged rocket and dodge promotes that image through the advertising campaign. Having issues could be the from that very premise, having such a high horsepower car leads us to drive then fast and frequently. Dodge would use the defense of spirited driving as abuse in a part like that. We use the reason we drive the cars as we should as designed for it. Which is a grey area that no one wants to be in

Mine lasted 3 times with stock tires and 5 times with drag radials but still in my opinion didn't launch real hard,is our clutch the same as viper or bigger but not better?
