A couple of things bother me about the pricing of some options. Why do red seat belts cost $95? I've never heard of a difference in the pricing of the color of the webbing.

And then there are the "brass monkey" wheels. Black or brass, the wheels are the same. The only difference is the color of the paint on the wheels. So why are the brass monkeys $395?

I don't mind paying for value received but these two seem like a rip off to me.

You are buying a $70,000 Hellcat and you are whining about $95 seat belts? Then don't buy them! Three words: Supply and demand

Belts: Red belt fabric might cost more because of the color.
Rims:Cost of the paint might be more, production time to paint the brass monkey rims might be longer.

Look at any aftermarket belt supplier and you'll see the cost is the same no matter the color you pick.
Could the cost or process of the brass monkeys possibly be $100 more per wheel? I doubt it.
I didn't want to die of old age waiting for the Charger I ordered so I bought another car that happened to have the red belts and brass monkeys.

Those are 2 options that'd be easy to swap out. I'm sure there's someone here that settled for one with black wheels and black seats belts. U should check the sale section

Superchargers and the other internal engine changes cost real dollars. Fabric dyes and single stage paints don't.

There's pricing based on manufacturing cost, and then there's pricing based on the market.

In the U.S., manual transmission is standard, automatic will set you back an extra $1995.
Same auto transmission is standard on Canadian vehicles, but we pay an extra $1000 for the 6 speed stick.
I do not think this has anything to do with component or assembly costs :)

$95 for red seat belts is a bargain compared to a dealer adding $300 for nitrogen in the tires

Unscrupulous dealers can really do a number on pricing. One told me they would add a $899. "new car prep" fee to a Hellcat Charger. Later I found out the PDI is only an hour and Chrysler pays the dealer for it. One more dealer I'll never see again.

Do you have one, have one on order, are thinking about ordering one or what?
Yes the option cost is out of line but this is the way options have been forever, especially appearance options.

You could be waiting on an order to be filled since 9/9/14 like myself and others and really something to carp about.

the red seat belts cost $95 more because its an option.....why would they give you something different for free?

doesnt matter if it costs them the same or even less to get red seat belts.....i charge $95 for them too....

i actually think its a bargain its only $95

same on brass monkeys...they could ask $1000 more and people would gladly pay it to be different

I have the Rudy red seat,, and there wasn't a charge for that,, you would think they would charge for that, and not the seat belts

I feel for you on that long wait. I ordered a Charger back in Feb. and it was stuck in BG status. I kept checking the Dodge.com inventory and finally found another Charger. It wasn't exactly what I'd ordered but it was close enough. It had a couple thousand dollars of extras I didn't want but it had everything I did want so I bought it. I bought it for MSRP and love the car.
