crankcase catch can

    I agree we all should use a catch can....but any input on a crankcase catch can for the hellcat? I was told you only need one if you go to the track......any insight?....thanks all....

    Do you mean a crank case overflow catch can? If so, it's not needed because I've never seen oil pulled into the fresh air bridge. Remember that the air bridge just lets air into the valve cover so that the crankcase can be evacuated through (in your case) the catch can and into the intake. The engine's vacuum is almost constantly pulling the air through the catch can (except under full throttle conditions when vacuum drops). I know that Chevrolet had problems with the new Z28 allowing oil into the air bridge, but that was only in extreme road race conditions and GM installed an overflow catch can.) If the crankcase became pressurized, it would push the dip stick up and if this is the case, I would use a crank case overflow catch can.

    that was pretty much what I was told....thanks for confirming that. .not gonna waste my money on that.....

    I agree 100% and those overflow catch cans are really expensive.
