Ok, first off, I completely failed the break-in phase challenge. Like badly. 133mph in the first 30 miles. I'd compare it to being in a hotel room with a completely nude and eager, 21-year-old Pamela Anderson and being told to stay celibate for a week. Some of us just don't have the self control.

Secondly, the sound. It roasts the Shelby (a car I think sounds incredulous). It's another level of aggressive I didn't think possible for under $250K. It's guttural, barbaric, concussive, NASCARian. Revving it in park is one thing, but to slam on the gas and hear it roar, then sneefurp as it shifts is something altogether different. It cracks off other cars nearby, people in the next lane hit their breaks, pedestrians stop walking and twitch their necks like nervous squirrels. Mwahhahahahah!

Next, the car is great even without the speed. The tech is cutting edge. The air blows colder than y'all will need. I live in Phoenix, so I'm loving that ice-cold Detroit A/C. The HK system bumps. I don't know what everyone was stressin' early on? Maybe they fixed it? The driving ergonomics are stellar (I'm a chiropractor so these things are important to me). The telescoping steering wheel comes WAY out and the seats feel like my Dad's old Cutlass Supreme, but more snug.

Lastly, of course it's worth the wait. I've heard almost everyone say that when they post narratives like this. For me the anticipation was 75% excruciating and 25% enjoyable. There's something fun about being uncomfortably patient. Part of me will miss the feeling of wanting something that badly. In my qwest, I spent something like 500 hours (4ish hours a day) reading, watching videos, looking at pictures, Google searching "dodge srt hellcat" and using search tools like "past 24 hours" or "past week", constantly checking cars.comand the autotrader app for "recently listed", calling dealerships, pestering SRT live chat, calling the dealer, driving to the rail yard (5 times) and almost getting arrested for trespassing and loitering in the Union Pacific parking lot ["sir why are you sitting in your car with binoculars", "officer, that's my blue hellcat, here use my binoculars, see the black roof?", "damn that blue looks awesome, is that the one with 700hp?"]. Mostly, y'all made my madness seem normal. I love having a place like this and a family like y'all with whom I can share my thoughts.

Here's a video of my boys in the back seat. Can you tell if they like the ride?

Too funny. Me as well. I babied it from the dealership to my office, just to get a feel for the car, then all bets were off. LOL.

You hit the nail on the head right there fellow AZ bro! I love having my Hellcat now but there's something to be said about enjoying the process of actually getting one and for delayed gratification in general. Reminds me of a quote from one of my favorite movies and a mantra I still try to live by to this day...

We failed the break-in challenge on both of our's, too... more so on mine, lol. And yes, as I was saying even back in December when I took delivery of my Challenger, and again in March when we took delivery of the Charger, totally worth the wait and misery!

Enjoy main.. you're going to get tons of attention and have lots of fun. Just be careful out there and keep it between the ditches. :D
