I was in the fog of new love when I bough my 2015 Charger SRT and opted for the Interior\Exterior protection, as well as the "keyless entry and theft insurance". Oh, and the extended warranty.

I haven't had the extras installed yet. It was a Saturday and I bought the car in San Diego and live in LA. I'm headed back down to the dealer on Friday. Having said all that, did anyone purchase the Interior and Exterior protection, and was it worth it?

    Thanks!

Well...it depends. If its just you in the car and you are fairly clean....no kids, snot, vomit or spilled food/drinks...you could probably do without. For me personally, I have usually avoided fabric protection (I usually get leather seats), undercoating/corrosion protection(I live here in sunny/dry SoCal) nitro filled tires, paint sealants( I detail my own cars). The only extra I would get is the extended warranty, but will wait for another year or two. Certainly you're call and what you feel comfortable with.;)

If you can afford it, it can't hurt.

The Alcantara seems a little sketchy, and I suck at detailing a black car! I already have water spots, but they'll clay those out before they put whatever it is on the clear coat. Kids are banned from the Charger. Beer is not

I wasn't trying to be flippant. I believe it's the general consensus that you can get those services outside the dealer for a much reduced price. However I have never heard where the dealer provided services do not work as well.

There are numerous coatings that will help with the exterior maintance. My experiance is with cquartz and so far I am loving it.
There are writeup on many of the coatings in the appearance section that can give you pointers.

What is theft insurance? Does your normal auto policy not cover theft? My $.002 is make sure you are buying a Mopar (FCA, Dodge ) extended warranty. I would have considered buying a warranty at purchase as I could have financed with the car but my Dodge dealer does not sell a real Dodge Warrantee.

Second that! You definitely want a real Mopar/Dodge/FCA warranty/extended service contract -- not a third-party one. Some of those are only good at the dealer from whom you purchased it; others may be good anywhere. However, what they don't tell you is that most dealers will charge you an extra $50-75 fee if you're using a third-party warranty. Not so with a Mopar warranty.

There are several places on-line that sell Mopar warranties at a considerable discount below what your dealer will charge.

It's Karr Security. If your car is stolen and not returned, they pay the diffrence between what you paid for the car and what the insurance will give you up to $20K. It cost me $500.

With that in mind if you folks don't use your cat as a grocery getter you may want to consider collector car insurance. YOU decide how much up front you want to be paid if your car is damaged, stolen etc. I looked into this hard but the 1 year policy must be paid upfront and Im just comfortable with my Nationwide as my agent just drafts my account every month and was no upfront money but I may regret this if stolen / damaged as I will be paid KBB.

In my experience, interior/exterior protection for the price you pay at the dealer is a rip off. The stuff they put on isn't much better if at all, then what you could do yourself. Sure it looks great when done, but only lasts a few months. If it was me, I'd find a way to get that refunded and do the treatments myself.
